I've had demons conjured from within the darkness
Evil thoughts arose from the depth of my soul
They extended an olive branch
And offered a special meal for me to savour
Leucochloridium paradoxum sounds strange
For the main ingredient of an eight course meal
My face lit up with joy, and my body filled with energy
As I munched on these tiny appetizers
A steaming soup of Toxoplasma gondii
Was brought before me
A light broth of motivational disaster
Was set right on my table
Common sense became a part of the banquet;
An appetizer I never requested for,
But I ate them nonetheless
Listening to the voices whispering in my head
Different emotions plucked from different thoughts
Were prepared into a salad of sins;
Pride, wrath, lust… rare ingredients from the underworld,
I was made to consume them all
The fifth course ingredients were being fished
From the sea of my rumbling emotions
When my eyes opened
And I discovered my body was no longer mine to control
The sixth course brought back my sanity;
Clarity returned to me in a flash of light
And disappeared at the sight of the seventh course…
A temptation I dared not fight
What's on the menu for dessert, you say?
Sugarcoated lies prepared by Satan's only daughter,
Fake promises baked in the searing flames of hell,
Served by the two-faced emissary of falsehood.
Then came the last course of the meal…
Betrayal served to me on a golden platter.
“What a lovely fool you are.” she sang
As her hands struck the cord of deception.
I surely didn't leave the table hungry
I left with something far worse than hunger…
A mind pickled in poison,
An
d the aftertaste of her broken promises.
