BLAME IT ON FATE

October 02, 2022

The gooey red water
Splashed on my face
As I fell into the puddle

The strong smell of iron
Sent eviction notice
To the breakfast in my belly

I leaned on my sword for balance
Dragged my left leg along
As I searched through the open ground

The vultures were already feasting
The annoying flies were having a party
They came too Early

Thousands were lying on the ground
Sleeping soundlessly
With different expressions on their faces

I tripped on a headless body
And I was baptized once again
In a poodle of red liquid

I searched everywhere
Looking for that one person
Until I found her,

A smile was plastered
On her once flawless face
(The vultures left evidence behind)

I captured the brave vulture on her head
Dug out its left eyeball
(an eye for an eye)

I pulled her head closer to mine
Gave her a farewell kiss
Not minding the pungent smell

Tears escaped my eyes
The heavens cried with me
Washing away my tears

I blamed the heavens
And they grumbled
Shifting the blame on me

I told her not to come
I warned her several times
But she wouldn't listen

I carried her in my arms
A great beauty in a golden armor
Laid lifeless in my embrace

My hand felt the dagger on her back
Reminding me of our last embrace
How I watched her breathe her last

She did this to herself
So I could live
If this is love, I do not want it

It's not her time
Nor is it her destiny
I can only blame it on the fate
