Time flowed like a river
It moved like a raging sea
Like a monstrous demon
It devours all that exists
 
Like water on fine metal
Surely, we couldn’t escape
From being slowly corroded
To be swept away by the waves
 
We all strive to leave something behind
And make a name for ourselves
Some but sand castles
With sweat and blood of others
 
Few forged steps of bones and skulls
Hoping to escape the realities of life
And escape ashore
But we are all bound by that one chain
 
People struggled to break free
By leaving something behind
Generations after generations
Some family names remain undying
 
Others struggled to leave their names behind
Seeds we’re planted in the minds of others
Statues were erected in their images…
False concept of immortality was created
 
The river flowed, and we saw them no more
Myths were created
Legends we’re passed on
False concept of immortality… achieved
 
I want my name, boldly written
On the great river of time
So I took up the mission
To search for the true path
 
I swam through the vast sea of knowledge
Where I fished for wisdom
I ascended the stair of inspirations
To become a great Sage
 
Strength flowed in my arms
With each lift of my pen
I fought back my fears
And drowned my worries in ink
 
I fought demons within
Battled my own darkness
I gathered facts
Without abandoning reasoning
 
Yet, the concept of immortality
I could barely touch
But still, I’ll continue to strive
Until the right path is perfectly carved
